FRIDAY: Karaoke & Full Moon Party
Itching to do your own cover of "Call Me Maybe"? Now's your chance! LA Mag recently came out with it's "Best of LA" issue and named a few karaoke joints on the Westside. Boardwalk 11 in Palms has a selection of over 50,000 songs with an emphasis on classic rock, while Karaoke Bleu in Sawtelle (aka little Osaka) offers some Japanese and Korean tunes.

SATURDAY: Locally Sourced Entertainment & Ghettoblasting Goodness
Begin September in the right key at the 5th annual Broad Fest in Santa Monica. The Broad Stage turns over the spotlight to local performers, artists and musicians. Oh, and there will be food trucks a la Nom Nom, Border Grill and India Jones. The festivities run 11:00am-3:00 pm and entry is free.
If you still haven't experienced any of Made in LA I highly suggest hopping over to LA><ART in Culver City for the last event before the city-wide exhibit closes. Scott Benzel and Mark Hagen's Bass Elegy/Devil's Night (For M.K.) is a tribute to the late Mike Kelley, and influential L.A. artist who died early this year. Benzel and Hagen will build a giant bass cabinet within a beat-up car and blast "Ghettotech, Booty bass and early Detroit Techno" (presumably because that's Kelley's hometown). Starts at 8:00pm and admission is free.

SUNDAY: Line-Dancing & MixMatch
Or head over to Santa Monica for the MixMatch Dance Festival at the Miles Memorial Playhouse. The event showcases all types of dance, from ballet to modern to hip hop to folk. The shenanigans start at 2:00pm and tickets are $14
Hopefully you ain't working Monday Morning so you can also attend the Labor Day Sunday party at The Bungalow [or even if you do work...doors are open 2:00pm-2:00am]. The new Santa Monica lounge is mad cool - plenty of seating, pool table, ping pong table, fun music and vibe, generous $6 glasses of sangria - so here's a good opportunity to try it out.
MONDAY: Pajama Breakfast & Yacht Party
Hungover on Monday? No problem. P'tit Soleil in Westwood is having a Pajama Breakfast 9:30am-12:00pm, featuring their Le Quebecois Breakfast special [two eggs, bacon, roasted pork, cretons, potatoes, black beans and toast].
If you're rolling in dough and wanna do it up right, consider heading to Marina Del Rey for a Yacht Party, Mini-Cruise and BBQ for $40. Hop aboard the Fantasea One luxury yacht from 2:00pm-6:00pm and have some fun: DJs, [more] karaoke, games, a bar, cabanas...
