Mellow Monday Melodies: August 20th, 2012

After another glorious weekend full of sunshine, smiles and sea breeze it's hard to get the gears turning at work again.  Before completely succumbing to reality, here are a couple songs to daydream to.

The first is by Chicano Batman, an LA-based band I had the pleasure of seeing a few weeks ago at the Hammer Museum's summer concert series, Made in LA Music.

And my favorite discovery this summer, LA-based duo Poolside's cover of Neil Young's Harvest Moon.  They self-released their first album, wonderfully named Pacific Standard Time, in early July.  See them live July 15 at the Getty when they'll perform for Saturdays off the 405.
