The first is by Chicano Batman, an LA-based band I had the pleasure of seeing a few weeks ago at the Hammer Museum's summer concert series, Made in LA Music.
And my favorite discovery this summer, LA-based duo Poolside's cover of Neil Young's Harvest Moon. They self-released their first album, wonderfully named Pacific Standard Time, in early July. See them live July 15 at the Getty when they'll perform for Saturdays off the 405.
oh, i didn't know that neil young did that song....i like the video of it, too. but, aaaaa, i don't know how to say this gently, but, the first song........"shards of glass" & it was all over for me. if i were to have day dream about it, it would include stick pins in a voodoo doll. me no favaito...
